A Message From the Dean
Spring 2006
Traditionally, people tend to think that college is only for 18?21 years olds. We at the College of Extended Learning think otherwise. As a matter of
fact, recent data indicate that nationally, adults 25 or over going to college outnumber the traditional college-age students. We in continuing education
are not surprised at those statistics because we believe ?learning is a lifelong process?. We continue to learn beyond college?at work, at home and in our
everyday life. It is never too late to earn a degree, learn new skills or pursue a new career. We are here to help you with your learning needs.
Also, in this age of information, while national and international boundaries are shrinking, global competition is increasing in business, education
and technology. Our workforce needs to keep pace with new and innovative technology, learn new skill sets and be able to do business with the changing
demographics locally and globally. To meet these challenges, the College of Extended Learning at Cal State San Bernardino is poised to provide you with
the training and education you and your employees need.
At the College of Extended Learning, our primary mission is to help learners of all ages and backgrounds achieve their continuing education goals by
providing access to university degrees, certificate programs, professional development and personal enrichment programs. For businesses and industries
as well as the public sector, we can customize an education program to match the exact needs of your company and/or group of employees. We can deliver
the program almost anywhere?even at your company headquarters?so that your employees don't have to waste time in travel. Some of our programs are totally
online, delivered asynchronously, 24/7, available at your desktops anytime you want it.
You will find an array of educational programs in this spring catalog. If you are seeking to build a career in a specific field and need certification,
please browse through our certificate programs. Or if you are simply in need of an enriching educational experience, you will find many individual courses
that will match your personal educational needs. Thank you and have a great educational experience.
Sincerely,

Dr. Jeet Joshee, Dean College of Extended Learning
