Certificate in Mediation, Negotiation and Conflict Resolution
Conflicts and disagreements are a normal part of life, and it is the way that conflicts are handled that makes the difference in the quality of life. Individuals in many different professions (human resources, business, education, law and government) have found that the financial costs of unresolved conflict are expensive, time consuming and take an immense toll on people and organizations. Research shows that early and appropriate resolution of disagreements and conflicts through the use of mediation, and other dispute resolution processes, can prevent conflicts from escalating to costly litigation, to the destruction of relationships such as marriages, and to violence.
This certificate has been designed to offer hands-on practical training in the core competencies needed for effective resolution of disputes. The workshops offer the opportunity of learning the practical skills, techniques and methodologies necessary to resolve conflicts in the workplace, the family and the community constructively and effectively. Through interactive role play, simulations and discussions, you get to practice and fine-tune professional skills that can be readily applied to a variety of scenarios.
