Online Programs

The College of Extended Learning, in partnership with Gatlin Education Services, offers online continuing education programs and courses designed to provide you with the workforce skills necessary to acquire professional calibre positions in many in-demand occupations.

There are two types of online learning experiences offered:

Certificate Programs

 

Individual Self-Study Courses

Our certificate programs provide the most effective Web-based learning experience available today. Instructors are actively involved in your online learning experience, responding to questions or concerns, as well as encouraging and motivating you to succeed. Each program includes a set of lessons and evaluations; grades are a combination of the instructor's evaluation of students' work and computer-graded tests. We offer over 60 online certificate programs in such areas as:

The programs are designed to develop expertise in desired fields and/or prepare you for industry certification exams. Each program has specific learning outcomes related to industry standards. The programs are all open enrollment and interactive and can be completed generally in less than three months. In addition, the College of Extended Learning offers online career training in the areas of education, health science and law enforcement, as well as a series of non-degree level math classes.

Education
• Online Learning/Teaching Strategies

  • Online Certificate in Technology Integration (K–12)
The focus of this online certificate programs is on strategies and activities you can use immediately in the classroom to improve student’s skills through the use of technology.   Computer-Based Instruction Courses for Educators
These self-paced professional development courses are written by top educators and provide relevant and interactive instruction on a wide variety of subjects and provide the learner with skills and techniques that can be immediately applied to the classroom. Health Science
• Basic Audiometry and Hearing Problems
The course leads to the certificate of registration as a school audiometrist, granted by the California Department of Health Services, upon successful completion (4 units, quarter system). Law Enforcement
• Hate and Bias Crime Training
CSUSB’s Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism, in cooperation with the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) and the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC), offers an online program that provides law enforcement officers college credit and FLETC recognition. Math
• Basic Math and Pre-Algebra
• Elementary Algebra/Algebra
• Intermediate Algebra II
• Geometry
This series of non-degree level math classes provides basic math skills training, algebra and geometry in preparation for tests such as the GED, CBEST, or pre-employment exams.
