Learning Disabilities: Practical Information for the Classroom Teacher

Online courses work with your schedule, allowing you to participate when it’s most convenient for you. Most students can complete 3-unit courses in about 30 hours and 4.5-unit courses in about 45 hours. You may register for these courses at any time during the semester however you have 16 weeks to finish the course from the time of enrollment.

EDUC 3174. This course introduces diverse theoretical approaches to handling learning disabilities in the classroom. It lays the foundation for sensitive, appropriate assessment and evaluation of students. In addition, it covers program planning and implementation, stresses the importance of a close, positive partnership with parents or alternative caregivers and explores methods for ensuring that the home-school axis is effective and meaningful. Major trends and unresolved issues in the field of learning disabilities are also discussed.
