CSUSB offers a large number of Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs, as well as a doctoral program. International students need to meet the admission requirements for their aspired program.
Conditional admission is available to international students who meet all university entrance requirements except for the minimum English scores.
CSUSB requires the following English scores for admission to degree programs:
- Undergraduates: TOEFL 500 (61 Internet-based), IELTS 5.5, or Level 5 of CSUSB English Language Program
- Graduates: TOEFL 550 (79/80 Internet-based), IELTS 6.0*, or Level 6 of CSUSB English Language Programs
*MBA, MSA, MPA, English Composition and Communication Studies require IELTS of 6.5.
No Need for TOEFL
TOEFL Waiver is available at CSUSB. The TOEFL requirement is waived if a participant successfully completes Level 5/Advanced I of the CSUSB English Language Program for undergraduate admission or Level 6/Advanced II for graduate admission.
All degree programs at CSUSB accept TOEFL Waiver except:

All degree programs at CSUSB accept conditional admission except:

- Master of Fine Arts – Creative Writing
- Master of Science in Biology
- Master of Science in Computer Science
