The Individualized Supervised-Practice Pathway Program (ISPP) with a concentration in Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) provides quality education designed to prepare graduates to be eligible to take and pass the National Registration Examination for Dietitians.
The program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) and under the Didactic Program in Dietetics of the Nutrition and Food Sciences Program in the Department of Health Science and Human Ecology.
This MNT concentration will provide interns with additional experience in their specialty before entering their professions. The MNT sites can be a long term care, an inpatient or outpatient setting, which could also be the site of a community rotation. Up to twenty-five (25) interns will be accepted each year.
September – July of each year
- 11 months for full-time interns
- 22 months for part-time interns
The ISPP Program requires that you complete a week of orientation which will be held on campus at CSUSB during the second week of September. Details regarding lodging arrangements will be provided on acceptance to the program.
How to Earn the Certificate
Interns must complete a minimum of 1200 hours of supervised practice and pass all three online program modules, in addition to an exit exam before a Verification Statement for ISPP can be issued. This signed Verification Form documents that the individual is eligible to sit for the national registered dietitian (RD) exam; no additional graduate credits are needed.
