FAFSA Simplification Act

Due to changes made to through FAFSA Simplification Act, there has been a delay in institutions, including CSUSB, receiving FAFSA/CADAA data.  What this means for you is that there will also be a delay in receiving your 2024-2025 estimated award.  We understand the inconvenience this may cause, but our goal is to begin awarding students as soon as we receive the FAFSA/CADAA information from the Department of Education.  Please be sure to check your MyCoyote student portal regularly for any “To Do’s” or “Holds” to prevent further processing delays.

We encourage you to complete the FAFSA/CADAA as early as possible despite these delays.  You may experience difficulty with logging into the system to complete the application, but we encourage you to continue trying to access the FAFSA/CADAA application on a regular basis.

Our anticipated timeline means that we hope to have awards out to students in late April or early May. Unfortunately, we cannot provide a more specific timeline until we know more and assuming there are no more delays or changes.  The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships is committed to supporting CSUSB students and we ask for grace as we move through the 2024-2025 academic year process.
